Actually, I talked to some people using mIRC the other day, and they
appeared to think that mIRC supports much more than those 16 (or
something) color codes. I don't remember what the syntax was, though.
I wonder if it would be possible to put new formatting tags into the
Unicode Private Usage area? Those should be effectively stripped out in
the encoding conversion, and thus not visible to non-unicode-enabled
users. (Though it would probably be really annoying to irssi users.)
