try this registry file, unfortunately it doesnt read the gtkrc 
file so the font is a little bigger (im guessing this is 
a working directory issue) but it should work 
eg, try irc://irc.freenode.net/xchat in your browser

this assumes you installed in the default location, edit 
the file if you installed somewhere else.. this could 
probably be implemented in the xchat installer
