I get this error any time I try to connect to ANY server using X-chat. 
For example,

--- Looking up irc.us.freenode.net..
--- Connecting to core1-gige-ds3.pfn.citynetwireless.net (209.218.71.2)
port 6667..
--- Connection failed. Error: No route to host

I am using RH linux 8.0, xchat-1.8.10-8, and I have made sure that
iptables is off.  Anyone have any suggestions?
