Need to create alias/script that affects scripts

Hello!

I'm going to be behind a firewall this fall, and so I might as well
forget about DCC sends, and try to find a way to send files to people
with DCC servers.
(There's even a program for Linux that acts as a DCC server now, so it's
not a mIRC only thing.)

What I was thinking is that it would be nice to have a drop-in
replacement for the "/dcc send nick file" command that triggered the
system command:

dccsend -n nick "file"

with the filename in quotes so the shell will understand it.

And what would be even nicer, of course, is if the alias could be made
to work within scripts too, so I could run an XDCC, for instance,
without making any modifications to it.

Anybody have a script that can do this substitution? Since the syntax
for /dcc send and dccsend is very similar, I guess this is one of those
things that's easy when you know it, so that's why I'm even bringing it up.

Onegai simasu.

-David
