resizing the userlist?

Hi,

Iīm a newbie to xchat, but i started to like this application. My OS is 
MacOS X and my current version of xchat is xchat aqua 0.8.2
My first question is: Isnīt there any possibility of resizing the 
userlist? I canīt use xchat with 50 pixels of userlist because I canīt 
read more than a few characters of the usernames.
The second question: Is there something like aliases? I got used to 
them in mIRC on my Window$ computer.
