I like the feature, and don't really think it deserves a preference...
but I agree it needs some tweaking in order to be more functional when "always on"

How about ignoring DnD events that drop within the tab pane? Or better
yet... allow tabs to be re-arranged (at least within that network's
group) when dropping within the pane, and only detaching when dropping
outside?
