Need some information

Hello,
I wrote a script and would like to change a lot.
I need your help/ideas how to realize.

I would like to add a Menu in xchat's Menubar for my script. Can I
realize this writing a plugin?

If yes, I already looked in the documentation on xchat.org but this
isn't enough for me. Could anybody advise me a plugin where I can simply
study the code and find out how to code the menu.

I would like to split my script in different ones and run them out of
the new menu.

I don't know C yet (only some perl) and this would be a good possibility
for me to learn it.
