hey, i have exactly the same problem: everything IS installed (glib, glib-devel,...), but this is what i get:

checking for GLIB - version >= 2.0.3... no
*** Could not run GLIB test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means GLIB is incorrectly installed.
configure: error: Cannot find glib

config.log:
configure:1389: gcc -o conftest    conftest.c -lcposix   1>&5
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lcposix
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
configure: failed program was:
#line 1378 "configure"

what is -lcposix??
