I've been looking for this for over a year with no results.  Since xchat
appears to consume two file descriptors for each tab (at least, with
logging enabled), it doesn't take long before desirable stuff like
long-queued file receiving fails because the process is out of fd's.  
Between that and the lack of a fast way to get rid of unwanted tabs, I
gave up and turned off autodialog.
