Interestingly, the specfile Mandrake provides, which seems to be mostly
maintained by Geoffrey Lee, does not even require gtk+-devel, although it
does require -devels for perl, python, openssl, etc. because they build
everything they possibly can into it. I always remove stuff I don't need, so
I find myself editing the specfile with each new release.
Xchat's specfile has always amused me, with comments like "this buggy
makefile piss me off"... :)

Some of their naming conventions, which I was only introduced to last week
when I installed 8.0, annoy me... but on the other hand I can see why they
found it useful. (There's been libqt1 and libqt2 for a while now, for
instance, to allow KDE 1 and 2 to co-exist, among other things.)
