identd problems

Hi, all.

I'm running xchat 1.7.6, but every time I try to connect to a Dalnet server, 
it's telling me I have to have identd installed (which I do, which is the 
weird part) and then cuts me off.

Can anyone suggest a fix for this?  I'm *already* running identd, so what's 
the deal?
