xchat 1.7.6 + automake 1.4d + autoconf 2.50 = YUCK
Hey,
In case the topic doesn't give it away,
I just upgraded autoconf and automake, and now Xchat 1.7.6 won't compile.
First, automake complained that 'config.guess' and 'config.sub' were
missing... Fine... touched them and tried again.
Next:
/bin/sh ./config.status --recheck
running /bin/sh ./configure --prefix=/usr --disable-nls --disable-trans
--disab
le-ipv6 --disable-gnome --no-create --no-recursion
checking for a BSD compatible install... /bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
/usr/src/packages/x/xchat-1.7.6/missing: Unknown `--run' option
Try `/usr/src/packages/x/xchat-1.7.6/missing --help' for more information
configure: WARNING: `missing' script is too old or missing
---
snip
---
checking how to run the C preprocessor... gcc -E
checking build system type... configure: error: cannot guess build
type; you must specify one
make: *** [config.status] Error 1
----
Erk. That'd be because of the missinc config.guess, i'd say.
Now what ? Any ideas ?
thanks,
/ Brett
