notify list

I' ve a problem with the notify list on xchat 1.4.2 : it
does not refresh
nicks automatically :(
so that, I've to use the command  "/notify nickname"
periodically to
know in someone is online !
It is uncomfortable a lot !!!
I want my program do it in an automatic way ... is it
possible ?
