Actually, now that I think about it, mine is against 1.4.0

Send me the diffs for what you have against 1.4.1pre2, and I'll port my stuff
to it and send you the resulting diff... that way we can stay in sync here.

Especially if you are going to maintain the changes to perl.c, that way I can
keep up with what you've done first.  Besides, I'm eager to use the access to
the internal vars. :)
