COMPANY PROFILE

RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS

Raytec Development Corp. (CDNX – RAY.V) currently ranks as the leading manufacturer, developer and marketer of perishable-food control systems for the North American commercial grocery industry. Clients include such household names as: Albertson’s, Fred Meyer, Lowes Foods and Safeway. In 1995 Raytec formed an internally financed R&D division to develop leading-edge antimicrobial products for the surface sanitation and food processing industries. The company has since focused its business model around this opportunity, completed product development, and is currently awaiting EPA approval for entry into the U.S. market.

Core Products: Food Preservation/Water Treatment

As a result of the acquisition of Fractal Inc., in 1994, Raytec now controls 60% of the North American market for misting, humidification and water treatment in retail and commercial food storage facilities. In 1998, Raytec added a strategic high-growth element to its core business by purchasing the largest independent company in the commercial grocery service and maintenance industry.

New Products: Antimicrobial Sanitizers

As the incidence of food-borne illness increases, consumers and health care organizations will press for improved food safety. Chlorine dioxide has long been recognized as one answer to this challenge. Its efficacy in killing bacteria is well established by clinical studies. However, until now, shipping regulations have limited its use to large industrial applications that justify the costly generators required to produce it on-site. Raytec’s patent-protected product, SANI-T-BAG(TM), revolutionizes how chlorine dioxide will be made and used. With this product the end-user can produce specific quantities of chlorine dioxide solution by simply placing a sachet in water--like making a cup of tea. Now any grocer, restaurant, hotel or hospital can use this powerful biocide to keep their premises microbial-free, without making the huge capital investments.

Financials

Raytec generated C$6.7 million in revenue this year, and anticipates growth to C$9-million next year. Management forecasts sales will grow steadily by 15% per annum to C$20-million in 2005, with earnings of C$2.8 million.

Jan 25, 02: Raytec to Receive EPA Ruling

Raytec today announced it received notification from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that it will formally respond on or before February 19, 2002 to the company's application regarding use of SANI-T-BAG(TM), as a hard surface disinfectant.

Nov 28, 02: Raytec Files Patent For SANI-T-BAG

Raytec announces it is currently awaiting a patent for its latest technology involving a new delivery method for packaging chlorine dioxide in a "tea-bag" to keep bacteria from forming in food. Raytec developed the "tea-bag" to generate chlorine dioxide in the presence of water and produce specific amounts of chlorine dioxide in a solution in a safe manner. Current applications include bacteria prevention in crab and seafood processing plants, and controlling spoilage of produce.

                      ANALYST’S VIEW

“Raytec offers exciting upside potential. Patent pending products from Raytec open up an untapped market for the wide-use of chlorine dioxide in killing a variety of deadly bacteria. This is a solid business with a revenue and profit generating core-division, which is in a growing and virtually recession proof industry.”

                     THE OPPORTUNITY

Raytec plans to leverage its existing client base in selling a growing line of new products. Antimicrobial innovations such as the SANI-T-BAG(TM), for example, offer obvious advantages to its commercial grocery clients. In all, the combined market for Raytec’s technologies could reach into the billions of dollars.
