maybe you could take a look, most of those scripts are copies of
others etc etc because you are not the only one that does not know much
about configure. 
To compile one module I think the core is required and sometimes some
other things. So everything that is tested by the core does not require a
retest of the configure scripts of the modules. It would require that the
cores config.h is also used by the modules.
