gtk_preview

Hi,
what does this do (snpaed from gtkBrowser::Run()):

        // For gtk_preview support...
        gtk_widget_push_visual (gtk_preview_get_visual ());
        gtk_widget_push_colormap (gtk_preview_get_cmap ());

Both gtk_preview_get_visual and gtk_preview_get_cmap hangs on a 8-bit
display while they work on a 24-bit... Is gtk supposed to work with 8-bit?
