well, I'm not quite clear on how things are supposed to work here. You want
the display to create the tags because you want gtk specifik tags, eh? But
why do we need gtk specifik tags?

As I understood it the tree contains a set of tags with there css
attributes, those attributs are then turned into gtk commands by the
display. The Realise method need some font sizes and availibe space, but
that could be passed on as arguments...

As for replaced elements there will be some internal memory structure they
are parsed into and then a separate filter that converts  this structure
into a gtk object, like the gtk image display filter.

Am I way of here? At least this was the way I wanted things to work when I
propposed this filter redesign...
