About 3 years ago I used libWWW to develop a proxy management system
for linux.  I agree the the library design is a bit messy, but it is
small and provides a lot of functionality.  It might be useful as a
tool for demonstrating certain concepts, and for implementing low
level functionality at certain immature phases of some modules.

3 years ago I ended up dumping the library after writing most of the
stuff I needed.  But it made the initial design of the application
much much easier.
