Nice work! I can't get the x libs working thogh, I did a:

  ./configure --with-x --x-includes=/usr/X11/include --x-libraries=/usr/X11/lib --with-gtk=/usr/local/

on my linux box and it says:

checking for X... libraries /usr/X11/lib, headers /usr/X11/include
checking for -lICE... yes
checking for -ldnet... no
checking for -ldnet_stub... no
checking for -lnsl... no
checking for -lsocket... no
checking for -lX11... no
checking for -lXpm... no
checking for -lXext... no

/usr/X11/lib/libX11.so do excist, yes! And so does Xpm and Eext too! If I
then try to compile the xlibs doesn not get linked in, and you can guess
how good that works :)

And one other thing, if the gtk libs are lokatec in /usr/lib or
/usr/local/lib (and maby some other default paths too), shouldn't it be
possible for configure to find them even without the --with-gtk switch?
