[linuxperf] Style/page updates?
Finally able to get back and put some time in again. Now some questions
etc.
We were working on some different style/page layout updates a couple of
weeks back. Are we going to make the move over to those? If so, I can go
through and update everything over the next 24hrs.
I've put up a version 0.6 of the baseline tuning document. This is
accessible from the front page rather than the general pages section.
The idea is to present a base from which all of our performance tuning
takes place. A lot of work still needs to be done to fetch links to
other docs, like the HOWTOs etc. One major section on networking is yet
to be written, that will probably be done over the next few days. Let me
know if you think the direction and flavour is what you are after.
Much thanks to Mat Kovach for having a look over earlier versions and
providing a lot of links, additions etc.
To quote the intro:
<QUOTE>
There is no such thing as a typical linux box. What we are attempting to
show is the items to look at when making optimisations to your system.
As such, we have to assume a general base level of knowledge and system
setup. The idea of this document is to provide that. At the same time,
it is a bit of a prep into how hardware and software relate together (so
that you understand why all the rest of the stuff at this site works).

Turn it or move it, and a new set of arrangements appears... is it
a single light or many lights, lights that one must know how to

frames or one frame for many lights?" -Subcomandante Marcos
