That one didn't seem to make it into the first cut. Not sure why, but
definitely a good suggestion.

My thoughts on this are "what are you tuning for?". That is, you place
different args into /proc depending on what application you are tuning
for. Something that makes Samba good may kill DNS. That is, a basic
intro page to the various parts of the kernel that can be tuned, but not
specifics. Then, under each page for a particular application, you would
go into the details about what kernel params you would play with (and
values to set) to tune that particular application.

I was interested in taking a shot at samba, but I couldn't even start on
it for a week or so. If you beat me to it, I won't complain.

hmmm.. That would be relevant to the particular App wouldn't it?
Although a "known bugs" type page would probably be pretty handy too.
