What is the output of: echo -e '日本語\b\bhello'
Wait. Quick question: how much should '\b' backstep when wide characters are encountered?
- a whole wide character? - a single byte? - a half of wide character?
It should be: "日本hello" and not "日hello". I'm not sure which it does. Also try with explicit cursor positioning escapes.
(I'd appreciate it if you could try and report since I no longer have them installed and forgot to check this while I did.)
