gtk+ input method support (wrt Japanese)
the MS-IME for Japanese seems to support unconversion. (when some text
is highlighted and the conversion key is hit, the text is returned to
candidate selection mode.)
Ive looked into the Canna conversion server, it doesnt seem to support
any unconversion of kanji characters. I dont know if any other popular
conversion servers support this either, or if its only implemented
inside MS's IME. Does anyone know offhand of a conversion server which
can give alternate candidates for arbitrary text (not just kana syllables)?
Assuming that unconversion support was available, I have a feeling that
common gtk+ applications wouldnt necessarily be able to support it. When
a text selection is made, the highlighted text would have to be turned
into a conversion candidate and passed to the im...
Does anyone think that "unconversion" support is worthwhile/implementable?
