Hmm, the UTF-8 support is not enabled by default, even in an UTF-8
locale. In order to get vim 6.0w to display an UTF-8 encoded file
correctly inside screen running inside an UTF-8 xterm in a UTF-8
locale, I had to 1. set the default UTF-8 mode to 'on' in my
$HOME/.screenrc, and 2. call screen with command line option "-U".
Furthermore I don't see any calls to character set converters (like
iconv()) in the code. Does this mean that all 'screen' has up to now
is ISO-8859-1 <--> UTF-8 conversion?
