The same as reported on the message I replied to: proper utf-8 is used,
but each byte of a multibyte char is displayed af it is were a signle
iso8859-1 char.
Note xterm and gtk2 work well; it is not that utf-8 can't be displayed at all
but that the standard way to use fontsets don't work (for example all Gnome
programs are able to properly display when setting the locale to koi8-r
or euc-jp encoding, the libX11 properly find the right fontset and displays
the text; but with utf-8 it doesn't work.

Well, I have XFree86 4.0.3, maybe it has been fixed in current CVS; maybe
it is a compile time option?
