For natural display, Cyrillic, Greek, and Latin (except FULLWIDTH variant)
should be normal-width characters. However, they should be doublewidth
characters for compatibility of EUC-JP and Shift-JIS.
* locale = ja_JP.eucJP or ja_JP.SJIS (on your xterm-152-27)
Every characters in JISX0208/0212/0213 are doublewidth characters.
# Note: EastAsiaWidth.txt has bug because it does not care about
# JISX0208/0212/0213, it supports only CP932 ;-(
* locale = ja_JP.UTF-8
Kanji, katakana, hiragana, and symbols are doublewidth characters.
Cyrillic, Greek, and Latin are normal-width characters.
This is my opinion. The other Japanese may have other opinions.
