xterm: slogin mb chars crippled

The attached Chinese sample can be viewed properly on xterm-125 with
Robert Bray's patch #6, but as soon as I log into another machine using
slogin and view the same file from there, the second line (starting with 
the Isr: tag) is not displayed properly, but contains a black block that
stretches to the first comma.
