Apparently you both have not only spend no time thinking about
solutions, you have also not tried to read up what others think. Read
the section about message handling in the glibc 2.2 manual (available
from the CVS archive, e.g., through the web interface on
sourceware.cygnus.com).
Hi Ulrich!
Not so negative. I am allowed to tell about my experiences
with a software package without digging first in unknown sites
in unreleased source to see whether someone else has other
experiences or other opinions.
But of course I would like to see your opinion about these things.
Let me see.

Hmm, no glibc-2.2 to be seen.
Do you perhaps mean glibc-2.1.3?
But you mentioned web interface - let us try netscape.
% netscape http://sourceware.cygnus.com/
[no glibc to be seen - click on "More projects"]
http://sourceware.cygnus.com/sourcecode.html
[click on "glibc"]
http://sourceware.cygnus.com/glibc/
[click on "the cvsweb interface"]
http://sourceware.cygnus.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/libc/?cvsroot=glibc
[click on "CVS"]
http://sourceware.cygnus.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/libc/CVS/?cvsroot=glibc
[click on "glibc"]
http://sourceware.cygnus.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/?cvsroot=glibc#dirlist
[click on "CVS" - hm, an old page. Back. Click on "libc" - old page again.
Back. click on "htdocs"]
http://sourceware.cygnus.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/htdocs/?cvsroot=glibc
[click on "index.html"]
http://sourceware.cygnus.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/htdocs/index.html?cvsroot=glibc
Hmm - doesnt look like I am making progress here.
If there is something under sourceware.cygnus.com that I should read,
please tell exactly where and how I find it.
I have never used this web CVS interface, so do not forget to mention
the trivial details.
All the best - Andries
