True.  Another idea I heard was to detect the start of another paragraph by a
different indent.  This breaks when a paragraph is a single line.

Hmm, that should work quite well.  So far Vim always automatically deleted
trailing spaces when formatting text.  This paragraph style can't be on by
default, but it's a useful option.  Thanks for the hint!
