From my US-keymap Hex_A, Hex_D, Hex_F seem to be missing, and the other three
are not well distributed (Hex_B is between Hex_C and Hex_E).
How about implementing the standard mentioned by Markus? We would need a
combination of two modifier keys (maybe Shift+RightCtrl, or AltGr+RightCtrl)
which is not yet taken when combined with the A-F, 0-9 and KP_0-KP_9 keys.
