- Mr: Can you think back that I have writen to you once ! That time you reply to me very soon you gave me some advise and asked me to bring up my questions ...... ~{#?~} I apologize I did not sent any questions to you after that , but I thank you very much as same. If you have forgetted me I am pleased to introduce me again. I am student in Chain ,and I am interesting in stadying " memory management " about linux. but my knowleage on this is so poor that I can't analyse it independently. therefor I am eager to get your help or that of anyone else . I puzzled by some functions in directory of "mm" in linux kernel source . when I study memory allocate and deallocate I find some points that puzzls me . first ------ what is then difference from function kmalloc and function free_pages? ,and whether is there some relation between struct (free_area[] )and struct (blocksize[])?do they all base on buddy algorithm?. second -------- what function about page_descriptor struct and what function the kmalloc_cache is ? I know it is a hard and mass work. and to it is too excessive
