Removal of Virtual Memory Module

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am just a newbie who have some problems about the virtual memory.  May I get some help from you?

To port the kernel onto an embedded system, the virtual memory module is always known to be removed.  As I know, the feature of virtual memory is based on page tables.  Will the removal of the virtual memory module affect the function of the page tables?  Besides, will other great features of Linux, such as virtual memory sharing, be disabled due to the removal and is there any other features will also be disabled?  Moreover, i also hope to know that besides the operation of page tables, is there any other functions be provided by the module of virtual memory?

Thank you for your help and hope for your reply soon.

Best wishes,
KK
