Residents.

                                                            "INT 21h... The
old good dreams of DOZ..."

Greetings.

As far as I know, the current version of Linux allow two major
classes of ~residents.
These are:
    - modules. Unfortunatly, a module
        - have no services to intercept another module or IFS service.
        - Must be installed by root.
    - ptrace, etc.
        - Is not interceptors too.
        - Is not global for the system.

Is it possible to develop common interface for interceptors.
For example: stacker.so hooks file operations and compress files on the fly.
It can be loaded by insmod as module and compress files of all users.
And can be loaded as daemon in user space.
In this case it will compress only files, written by this user.

            Best regards.

                            Alexander.
