Yes, this would be very nice to have. I've been thinking about clustering
my laptop with my tower PC when required for that bit extra processing
through-put.

Proprietary cack, and deserves to be binned or API'd out of existence.

What's really needed here is to define a POSIX clustering API so that we
can use a whole bunch of UNIXy systems into an cluster - and GPL'd it.
