Forking is something I feel *strongly* about, in any and all events no
kernel version should ever be sent out resulting from work on this list.
This list was not set forth to fork a new kernel from the current version,
but rather implement existing ideas, discuss ideas about features/changes
and to implement such discussions so that it would be much easier to
incorporate/implement in 2.3 (and beyond).

We are still working on 2.2.x, in the hopes of expanding 2.3 with as
little confusion/debugging (work) as possible.

General consensus suggests this to be the idea.  To have things laid out
ahead of time, so that representation of a feature/change is simple and
accurate and more likely to make it through Linus with minimal efforts on
his (and others') part..

At least I think, I hate to think I'm mistaken.
