I think THAT is a fantastic idea. I guess it has been argued before but
having a /proc/kconfig showing what options I have turned on, along with
values entered (sound IRQ etc) and maybe what modules were compiled with
this kernel verion would be amazing to have. Something that gives enuff
info that a make kconfig rule could generate a new .config, with all these
settings the same as before. that way a user could untar a brand spanking
new kernel
cd /usr/src/
tar -zxvf linux-brand-new.tgz
cd linux
make kconfig
make menuconfig (or whatever <-- all CURRENT option are now set!)
I think this would be a nice nice nice feature. in fact, if no one does
it, I will.
