hm, i did:

make modules LINUX_SOURCE=/data/MP3/scratch/kernel/linux-2.4-benh-RSYNC/

and then i get the compile errors.
oh, now i tried again and did:

make LINUX_SOURCE=/data/MP3/scratch/kernel/linux-2.4-benh-RSYNC/

(notice the lacking "modules" argument) --> now it compiles, just
have ignore the errors (make -i), when it tries to install the modules.
