Looking over the code that I copied into hashalot, the above explanation
makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Sorry.
Did you apply both patches (variable-key-size and keygen-prog) to
util-linux? If you didn't apply the keygen-prog patch then losetup may
mutilate your key.
