I don't have anything in modules.conf (or actually, I run debian on my
compile box so I have the old debian-patched /etc/modules.conf, but I
don't _need_ to have anything in /etc/modules.conf anymore). In the
2.4.x patch and the 2.2.18pre patches the need for entries in
modules.conf has been removed.  When the 2.4.x patch has stabilized
somewhat there will be a 2.2.x patch that uses this new scheme too.
