I don't think RPC is what we need.  What I need first and foremost is
cluster messaging.  The only case I can think of is *local* client<->server
intereactions.

I really believe in XML, but have not thought that RPC is the right thing to
do for the cluster infrastructure.  But, I'm willing to listen...
