I had Rik switch the list to only accept postings from list memebers.
This is hopefully a better solution that going to a moderated list
which can be very labor intensive. Let's hope it works.....

Thanks to those of you who have sent me notes on new projects for the
Linux Aviation HOWTO, I hope to get a new version out in a few weeks.
(Would someone please change the definition of a day to be 36 hours :^)

Just curious if there are any KFlog developers, users on the list?
It's certainly one of the more interesting new projects that has
sprung up recently (See http://www.kflog.org/)

that will help, but i have a couple of linux lists that i admin, and the
spammers have started a process where they sending requests to subscribe and
the spam shows up 6-9 hours later. i've had to start confirming all new
requests my self with an email like this:

I'm sorry for the added trouble, but due to the number of spammers trying to
subscribe/mail to our mailing list i need to confirm that all new members are
real people and confirm which list you are trying to subscribe to.
which list is very important because i help maintain multipule mailing list.
please respond with something to the efect of:

yes, please subscribe me to the Spam-Haters@spam-genicide.org(replace with real
list)

it is a closed post list so once subscribed i promise not to be a pain.
