Hello,

Does anyone know of a good FBO management program for linux? The FBO I do
part time tech support for uses TotalFBO for windows and it is absolute
garbage. TotalFBO is used to manage invoices, process dispatches, track
customers, etc and is located here (if curious):
http://www.hbcinc.com/tfbov3.htm

Thanks,
Matt Barclay

As far as the scheduling software concerned, maybe you could have a look
at http://mrbs.sourceforge.org. It is a web-based meeting room booking
system, using MySQL and PHP. It's GPL, so you could change "Meeting
Room" into "Aircraft", and it might be interesting.

Best regards, Peter

I'm using this for exactly this purpose (scheduling of an aircraft amongst
three owners), but I don't think it's anything an FBO could use to it's
advantage (scheduling AND dispatching AND tracking.....)

Hello,

I write on this list altough this mail is not directy related to Linux but
aviation and computer oriented.

I have started a few years ago (1997) in France a web site offering free web
hosting,
email and aviation services for web site dedicated to aviation and sport
flying. This website was decollage.org and is hosting around 250 web sites,
all dedicated to aviation, everything was financed by myself and my company.

As I have a new job and a new family situation (first baby !) , I have no
more time to manage the server, the web site and I must close the server last
week.

As I don't want to lose the work of several years and because I want to
develop a non profit online aviation comunity in different languages (my
native language is french) , I have learned from the past and as I don't want
to start it alone, I'm looking for volunteers to start a new web site
offering the same than decollage.org was ofefring , but this time with more
services dedicated to aviation and air enthusiasts.

I have registred a few years ago a domain name for this project :
Flying.org

There will be some rules about this project :
- If the number of people working on this project is ok (more than 5) a non
profit company will be created
- Everything must be non profit
- All code made will be GPL licensed

I have already the servers and the bandwith so technical and money is not a
problem.
So if you are interested, have a particular knowledge in any aviation field
or computer related (unix) please email me at benoit@decollage.org or
benoit@flying.org, if the number of people is sufficient, a mailing list will
be created.
About me, I'm 27 , working as CTO (worked before as sysadmin in several
companies) for a web hosting company in Montreal and flying since I'm 14.

Benoit
ps : sorry for my bad english.

FlightGear version 0.7.7 (source code release) is now available for
download.

FlightGear is a free, open-source flight simulator project. Source
code is licensed under the GPL.

There is a new 0.7.7 version of the base package that corresponds with
this new release. You must have this new base package to go along
with the 0.7.7 source code.

Other prerequisites:

  - You must have SimGear-0.0.15 (www.simgear.org) in order to build
this most recent release of FlightGear.

  - You must have a version of plib (plib.sf.net) installed before
building both SimGear and FlightGear. Plib-1.2.0 will work, but
we *strongly* recommend that you upgrade to plib-1.4.0 (scheduled
for release 6/21/2001) to take advantage of it's increased
robustness, rich set of 3d file loaders, as well as many other
    tweaks, additions, and improvements.

For more information on the FlightGear project, please visit the
Flight Gear web page at:

    http://www.flightgear.org
