that will help, but i have a couple of linux lists that i admin, and the
spammers have started a process where they sending requests to subscribe and
the spam shows up 6-9 hours later. i've had to start confirming all new
requests my self with an email like this:
I'm sorry for the added trouble, but due to the number of spammers trying to
subscribe/mail to our mailing list i need to confirm that all new members are
real people and confirm which list you are trying to subscribe to.
which list is very important because i help maintain multipule mailing list.
please respond with something to the efect of:
yes, please subscribe me to the Spam-Haters@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx(replace with real
list)
it is a closed post list so once subscribed i promise not to be a pain.
