fastboot in Linux kernel
Just learn of this feature - in the kernel. Google returned too many
different links, very confused.
Can someone summarized (if he knows the answer) the feature:
a. What is it about. Of course - faster bootup.
b. What mechanism it takes? (using kdump/kexec?) Soft boot or
hard boot? And what are the tradeoff it takes? Delayed bootup
(like in VMWare/WIndows XP)?
c. Status of current work? (i still see my bootup very slow :-)).
Thank you very much.
