recommendations for tutorials on programming USB device drivers?

anyone have some top-notch recommendations for an intro on writing
USB drivers? i've been perusing various sites but the major problem
i've found is that a lot of the material looks suspiciously old and
out of date.

i have a copy of "linux device drivers" which has an entire chapter
on USB Drivers -- any comments on whether that content is still
entirely relevant?

even some of the content at linux-usb.org is looking a bit ancient.
so where's a good place to start? thanks.
