microsecond-resolution-for-2.6

Hi,
 Is anybody knowing if there is microsecond resolution
patch for 2.6 kernel. 
As it was there for 2.2.13 by KURT linux people. 
I think such a patch is also needed for 2.6 kernel
even though its granularity is 1ms , what if someone
want to expire the timer in few microseconds.
