devices outgoing queue length in bytes

Hello NG,

I need to figure out the outgoing queue length of a network device. There is a 
"struct Qdisc" assosiated with each device, hoding statistics in a 
"gen_stats_queue" structur. But I can't find any documentation to it (e.g. is 
"qlen" in bits/bytes, what is "backlog_length") Does anybody know this 
structur?
