Simple module programs

Hello all,

          I would like some input from all of u.. I am new to the
world of linux kernel, and also to write modules. I am interested in
writing device drivers.

   I want suggestions from all/some of u indicating what would be a
good point for me to start of with module programming. I would want
suggestions on some sample devices i could try experimenting with. or
if not devices, atleast some simple programs that i can try out.
