No, I didn't mean that pci_register_driver() didn't work for me. I used
pci_find_device() as inheritance from older kernels :).
Now I'm writing another PCI driver for a new data processing board and I
will definitely "upgrade" it.

Um, 2.4 should also work just fine without using pci_find_device(). In
fact, that's the kernel series that it was created for (during 2.3). It
is not a "new" interface by any means :)

Why is it legitimate? Why would pci_register_driver() not work for you
now?
